Upside Down Research, LLC was founded in 2023 by Paul Nathan. The firm is registered in the State of Washington and operates from Spokane.
Mr. Nathan has been writing code professionally since 2004, and personally since 1997. He has held senior and principal engineering roles at ATPCO, CIQ, Amperity, and The Climate Corporation, with earlier work in developer tooling and site reliability at Providence and SEL. He holds a Master's in Computer Science from the University of Idaho, where his research was in embedded multicore debugging.
UDR develops two products: SummerEyes, a reasoning engine for AIs and APIs; and Housecarl AuthZ, fine-grained authorization for production services.
